St. Joseph Outreach, a ministry of Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph Parish, is
dedicated to help the needy in the Falls area. The outreach program functions as a food
pantry and has been in existence for 11 years, and still growing and going strong. A
ministry totally manned by volunteers, dedicated to the poor and needy. On average, the
pantry services well over 150 families monthly distributing food to supplement those
who are in need. On a given month we will service over 120 children, 250 adults, and
50 elderly (individuals on a fixed income) providing 3,500 meals. The outreach ministry
totally depends on contributions of food and money from individuals as well as grants
from the Western New York Food Bank. Since no one is paid for their services, all the
financial contributions we receive are used to purchase additional food from the food
bank. We also are grateful to the Tops market for their generous contribution of food
items such as bread, baked good, cheese, cold cuts, and other perishable items, which we
receive on a daily basis. DiCamillo bakery in the Falls is also very generous in providing
the pantry with bread, and baked goods. We feel that by helping the needy in their time
of need helps us fulfill the Gospel where Jesus says "What you do to the least of my
brethren you do onto Me." |
